Cathryn O'Connor



Cathryn is a retired nurse, who has been painting for approximately 16 years. Cathryn hasn’t had any formal training other than workshops and at every opportunity she likes to attend lessons to learn new styles, techniques and to advance her skills.
Water colour was her first love, then she branched out mainly to Acrylic and Oil mediums, although she has tried other mediums. At this stage of her artistic career, she is feeling more confident in her ability and has participated in many exhibitions with many sales achieved.
Cathryn grew up in the Snowy Mountains ( Island Bend & Cooma ), she has also lived in the Blue Mountains ( Leura ), she moved to Ballarat 28 years ago.
Being an avid gardener and photographer her love of nature shows in the subject of her paintings, mainly landscapes, especially The Grampians, where she visits yearly for a week
with her artistic friends.
Cathryns’ other interests are Creative Textiles ( she won Peoples’ Choice in the Textile Palate Exhibition 2023), photography and has a passion for gardening. She is also a member of the Craft Council of Ballarat and Probus Club of Ballarat South.
